These compositions incorporate South American sonorities and instruments, often blending
traditional rhythms and instrumentation from countries such as Argentina, Venezuela and
Colombia with modern classical music techniques and other contemporary styles. I consider this
group of pieces to be the closest to my true and most honest voice as a composer, they reflect my
musical upbringing, my cultural background and musical memories form my childhood. These
works feature instruments such as the Ronroco, the Spanish Guitar, Cuatro and Charango, adding
a unique and distinctive sound that evokes the rich cultural heritage of Latin America. The music
also features traditional South American polyrhythms and harmonies, combining both traditional
folk melodies form the region with classical influences. By bending the vibrant sounds of South
America with classical music traditions I try to create a distinctive and captivating sound that is
both rooted in the past and innovative in its approach, filled with nostalgia and yearning, but also
hope and happiness.
