Red Monday, a critically acclaimed podcast that tells the story of a hypothetical nuclear strike in the city of Los Angeles is set against the backdrop of a haunting and atmospheric musical score. The original composition weaves together a
tapestry of eerie yet evocative melodies, dramatic harmonies, and subtle rhythms, perfectly capturing the eerie and suspenseful tone of the story.
The score features a combination of orchestral and electronic elements, with emphasis on the piano and strings. The use of strings, woodwinds, and percussion creates a sense of unease, while electronic elements add an otherworldly quality to the music. Gerardo’s score skillfully incorporates found sounds and classical sonorities to enhance the overall mood and atmosphere of the podcast.
As the story unfolds, the music evolves, reflecting the changing emotions and circumstances of the characters. The score is a blend of traditional and modern techniques, resulting in a unique and unforgettable listening experience.Face-off.”
Red Monday takes place in a parallel universe, where John Kerry won the presidency of the United States and a North Korean terrorist organization detonates a nuclear bomb in Los Angeles. The story follows a young “hero” that ventures into the destruction left behind to save his friends. This is one of my first music scores, written shortly after I moved to Los Angeles,
the music is tense, emotive and full of action, told mostly by use of piano, orchestra and percussion.
